About the event
Join the Greeneville Greene County History Museum on November 8th, 2025 in celebrating the 70th anniversary of the film, Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier. Debuting in 1954, Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier introduced audiences to the legendary Eastern Tennessee frontiersman and his exploits. Davy Crockett and the coonskin cap craze was in full swing when the actor who played Davy on the silver screen, Fess Parker, came to Greeneville, TN in 1955 promoting the movie. Dressed in his buckskin jacket, Parker greeted hundreds of local folks eager to view the film at the Capitol Theater. In commemoration, the Greeneville Greene County History Museum is partnering with the Capitol Theater to give modern audiences an opportunity to experience the excitement captured on that day in 1955. There will be two screenings of the film on November 8th at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased…
